Brown Paper Packages Tied Up With String

To borrow from Julie Andrews, this is one of my favourite things. After Friday's escapades, I was wondering what this week will bring. So far, a $550 car repair bill and a pleasant surprise.

On Monday, I received two packages. One was a trial for some dishwasher tablets that I signed up for, but forgot. The other was a big box of pecan brittle from Salt Lake City Utah (I don't know anyone in Salt Lake City, that is just where the confectionery was made), with a card that pretty well said what a great person I am and that I am loved by someone very special.

Now parcels are welcome almost anytime in my house. (No ticking ones, please.) Even if I am just receiving my textbooks for my next study period, there is still an element of surprise and I can derive a small amount of pleasure in that. Unexpected parcels, now they're "da bomb" (still no ticking ones please). Unexpected parcels filled with sugary goodness? My thighs are screaming out for the extra calories. Unexpected parcels from my lovely sister, whom I have not seen in three and a half years and miss terribly?--well no words can describe how much my day/week/month/year was made better by receiving this gift. Thanks Sis, you are pretty wonderful yourself!

Note: This parcel had two of those packets of pecan brittle. One must have disappeared between the time I received the package to the time I am writing this post. My thighs are thanking/cursing me.
